We bought six thousand pounds worth of Stressless furniture from SHAH FURNITURE in Lincoln almost 3 years ago. One of the chair arms has now developed dark brown patches on it. We approached SHAH about it and was told that if we took the chair arm off by unscrewing two screws underneath and took it to them they would have a look at it. They took two photos with a hand held camera and said they would send them to Stressless after two weeks we got a reply . Stressless say that they showed the photos to a Senior technician from FIRA (Furniture independent technology centre)and that it was defiantly caused by sweat damage and that they couldnt take the matter further. (I find it almost inconceivable that they could say that it was sweat damage from two low resolution pictures. THAT SAYS A LOT FOR THEIR TESTING SERVICES) SO WE ARE NOW LEFT WITH A SHABBY LOOKING CHAIR THAT COST ALMOST £1500 . IT IS GOING WORSE ALL THE TIME AND IN THE NEXT YEAR OR SO WE WILL HAVE TO REPLACE IT . VERY DISAPPOINTED DO NOT BUY STRESSLESS FROM THIS FIRM OR ANY OTHER
We have sort advice from a independent leather testing lab they say that their is nothing wrong with the leather but in their opinion it is not the best sort of leather to use for furniture as it is easily stained and is more suitable for lining shoes and pump washers.
O and by the way the leather covering on my car steering wheel nor my wallet leather shoes brief case or anything else suffered from sweat damage.POOR PRODUCT POOR SERVICE . DO NOT BUY.By standring, May 25, 2020
